Xiaoyu and Nick, Sept 20, 2013

There were clouds and a slight bout of sprinkles on their special day, but Xiaoyu and Nick had a gorgeous wedding nonetheless.  Their love and the bright color palette of yellow and turquoise sure brightened up their Friday afternoon wedding at the Ritz Carlton, Half Moon Bay.

The bridesmaid bouquets were created in yellow, but Xiaoyu wanted her bouquet to be designed in softer shades.  We created her bouquet in ivory and accented it with shades of peach, lavender and light pink.  We used hydrangea, roses, stock and parrot tulips to create her unique and very bridal hand tie.  The bridesmaid bouquets were created with roses, dahlias, billy balls and tulips in bright, beautiful yellow.

We decorated altar for the ceremony by hanging bud vases made out of a bright blue glass at different heights and filled those vases with bright yellow flowers for a unique look that brightened up the space.  The pretty draping and the hanging vases blew so elegantly in the coastal breeze.

The reception space was also cheered up with tons of yellow.  The guest table centerpieces consisted of two parts: a tall arrangement of hydrangea, dahlias and roses and a trio of small arrangement mirroring the larger.  We also decorated the tables with yellow votive candles for an elegant touch.

A very big thank you to Laurie Shields and the rest of the staff at the Ritz Carlton, Half Moon Bay; it is always such a pleasure working events with you!  And thanks to JJ Chen Photography for shooting the special day and sharing the photos.  We hope you enjoy the designs as much as we enjoyed creating them for this lovely couple.
